I have the Smoke. I really like it a lot. As others have said, the build quality is very good, and it is backed by superb customer service. Thermoworks also makes quality probes. I have replaced only one Thermoworks probe in 3 years. I have no experience with iGrill.

I have the same gripes. I wish they made a flat bottom receiver like Maverick, or a simple wire stand for it fo rPete's sake. But, you can shut off the audible alarm on the base unit, and the remote still alarms. Not sure if you realized that.

Yes, I set the volume on my main Smoke unit to muted (just press the VOL button to cycle through the options) a while back, and keep it off.. I don't need my neighbors getting annoyed by a beeping alarm outside, when I've got the alarm going off inside the house on the remote.
