    BBQ Dragon disappointment

I got home and my order from BBQ Dragon was waiting. Taking it out there were a couple minor disappointments. It was supposed to come with fire starters, none in the box. No worries, I can live with that, they were supposed to be free so it's not like I paid for them. However it didn't include any batteries. In the description it stated, "...easily recharges using Micro-USB in your home or car." So I made an ass of me by thinking it came with rechargeable batteries. Apparently it recharges if you buy the batteries extra. But they don't even include alkaline batteries. Nor does the instruction sheet make any mention of how many and of what size, just how to remove the cap and remove the batteries, which aren't there, and to note the polarity. Could someone tell me how many and of what size I need to get?

Looks like 04 AA batteries are required to run th' BBQ Dragon...
    Hope this helps.

I could swear mine included the batteries, but that was a year ago. Sorry for the disappointment!

We'll blame it on budget cuts!

I can’t remember if my came with batteries or not. I read some reviews on Amazon that some got theirs with batteries and some didn’t.

It was looking like a trip to town (thirty miles one way) to get some batteries, but Mrs. CN found some in a cabinet and now it works. Later tonight I'll pair it up with the chimney and light a fire.

I HIGHLY recommend getting some good rechargeables, unless you'll only use it for brief periods for lighting charcoal.

That is all I use mine for but they sure do like to eat the batteries, maybe one day I will buy the recharge kit from them.

vandy might be a good investment. I opted for some good Eneloop rechargeables and a plug in battery charger instead of their charger kit. But it does have a mini usb port so theoretically any phone charger should work, but it's slower that way I think.

And make sure you don't drop it on your garage floor. :/

Mr. Bones, I think you may have hit on something there. I broke the handle where the battery cover goes on my original one so I had to tape the cover on for it to work so I got another one a few weeks ago while they were on sale.

I tried her out on Saturday night. First attempt to light I stuffed two sheets of newspaper in the bottom around the pipe. Didn't light. So then I tried one sheet in the pipe thinking that it would just smoulder. I kicked on the fan thinking it would blow it out. I should know better than to think, the thing took off like it was at a funny car at a drag strip. I didn't time it, but by the time I got back outside from pressing the patties it was fully flamed.

I've gotta get that chimney for mine. I use the Eneloop Pro 2450 mAh rechargeables for mine. Works great.
