Owned both - longtime Smokenator, very recent Smoke'n'Sear. I cannot thank the Smokenator people enough for getting me seriously into kettle smoking (after my heavily modified Brinkman barrel burned through the side(!!) after 30 years of use). Without dozens of long cooks with it, I probably would not have bothered to buy and try the fancier SnS. So, my vote for the SnS should NOT be taken as a condemnation of the Smokenator. It filled a spot in the development of kettle smoking technology for which I am really grateful. That said, the results with the S'n'S led me to decide to buy the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill. A couple of relatives are now enjoying the Smokenator and the S'n'S.
