    Kitchen Faucet

    Help me spend my money...

First off, our newish (10? years old) faucet got a ding in the cover plate that has made it impossible to clean 100% AND cooking at work with a standard wash tub and faucet sucks... So why not upgrade our home faucet and send the current one to work and save you fine tax payers some money in the process

I'm pretty set on either Moen or Delta, but open to other high end options. Must be available in either spot resistant stainless or brushed nickel like finish, single handle but with a 3 hole plate and ideally a separate soap dispenser. Must have a spray feature and a pull down or out config, but ideally a magnetic lock instead of the click lock our current one has (I like to let it dangle, but the wife always snaps it back shut )

NO battery stuff. And none of those exposed spring options (those have to be hell to keep clean for someone with OCD)

    Anyway, spend my money.

When we replaced ours a few years ago, my wife really wanted this one. Unfortunately, it does use batteries so it may not meet your criteria.

I love the idea of the battery ones, but really I don't want to find out a battery is dead right when I need something... from my sink of all places. I did really look hard at that one, just don't want batteries (heck some of the new ones are alexa activated... really?!?!

We just got a new Kitchen Faucet in the last couple months. We bought from a Plumber who installed it and told him we wanted something plain that he had parts for and not something that when it leaks down the road they tell me "oh you have one of those" we can't get seals for that. IMO stick with a name brand and one with less fancy options to leak or give trouble.

Sadly my plumber connection has moved and my wifes guys from work don't have access to the plumber accounts for the top name brands which offer more stout interior components vs the box store model. But yep, we're keeping it as simple as possible feature wise

Do you have a model you would suggest? The reviews look iffy on the sub $400 models and I really wanna stay below $300 unless it's absolutely worth it. The reviews on their customer service look amazing (prompt and clear communication and replacing stuff out of warranty and other things you don't usually expect from faucet company)

@ItsAllGoneToTheDogs Here's the one we have. I don't remember the model, but we've had this for 13 years and no problems.

“I really wanna stay below $300”

      Haaaa.
We did a refresh on our kitchen and bathroom, I think 4 years ago now, and the kitchen/bath store we were in had some really nice stuff. We had a decent budget for all of the fixtures. Around $2k. When we chose the kitchen faucet that we both really liked, well that one piece exceeded our budget. $2300. 🤬 Needless to say it’s still in the store. We settled on one for $375ish and stayed within our budget. One can really go overboard with things like this.

Ideally I can get my city to let me buy a lot I want and build a single story house at some point, so I don't want to OVER invest in this house just in case that pans out. Granted I could likely swap a faucet down the road, but I probably wouldn't. What'd y'all get and do you like it?

Don't remember brand. but I really don't love it. I would love to change it out at some point.

My only suggestion would be to get something you can get replacement parts for locally. Moen and Delta would both fit the bill for me.

Moen all the way! Best pricing and easy to replace the cartridges.

We got a plumber supplied Kohler brand when we did the kitchen five years ago. It’s a Wisconsin company known for high end kitchen and bath stuff. It was about $400 which is on the very low end of their line. The nozzle failed within six months. It took two months to get the replacement. It failed again after another year. Another two months to get the part. So…… watch out for the Kohler product.

This is the one we got for our kitchen upgrade last year. We've been very happy with it. https://www.build.com/kohler-k-23764...63?uid=4183174

And as simple as you can get.

I went through this recently, and got a high rise pull down faucet that is kind of industrial style, but might check your boxes. It's got a good magnet on it.

Delta Theodora Spotshield Stainless Double Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet with Sprayer (Deck Plate Included) 18804Z-SP-DST at Lowes.com

I got sick of the last several "pull out" ones with a weight and hose to catch on stuff under the sink, and really like this style. It's single hole but has a 3 hole plate. I also switched out to a large single basin deep sink, and we are enjoying that versus the double-bowl setup we had for decades. I can wash some of the big pots and some of my brewing equipment that I never fit in the old sink.

The spring might drive my wife.nuts for cleaning. Any issues on that front?

ItsAllGoneToTheDogs not really. I just looked at my Lowe's account, and I ordered it online on October 8 2024, since it was not in the local store. So its been in for 7 months give or take. It wipes clean easy with a paper towel when we clean the counters and sink. It has a spot free smudge resistant stainless. Our son had a similar Kohler faucet that inspired the purchase, but his has a much weaker magnet to hold it into the swiveling arm.

This style is kind of in at the moment, I think.

I apologize if already answered the same above, but if you cannot turn a faucet on & off with your wrist, it takes a few more steps to be sanitary in washing your hands.

And important for me as I often come into the kitchen from outside or in the garage with paint or grease on my hands, and I don't want to touch the faucet before I get the crap washed off my hands... otherwise I then gotta clean the faucet handle too!

jfmorris , I factor a joystick handle into everything, even having my joystick handle wearing a glove and switching anytime my hands or sprayed with a bleach mix depending. I’m super protective of mine and others immune systems,

Ok, after ALOT of debate I finally pulled the trigger.

Pray for me, I did it while my wife is out of town.

I REALLY liked some of the Grohe products I saw, unfortunately there are LOTS of complaints about poor water flow from their newer stuff. I found some fixes like boring out and swapping the hoses, but not something I want to do with a nearly $400 purchase AND I would have to source a plate and hope it matched. IF you know anyone who is in the market for a Grohe or one of their sister brands, I found this site which offers a fairly significant Military discount on some products. Also, while their video showed the Zedra line having a magnet dock the only one I could confirm for has the worst reviews. The one I liked, I was unable to verify if it had a magnet.

(Their Military verification system sucks and anyone can use this offer with the following registration invite code freely available to any one with search skills MIL244LIXIL ) Military Discounts for Kitchen and Bathroom - LIXIL Water Technology Americas

So, off to AAFES I went, and I ended up with this one for $280 shipped

Bacuri Single Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Shield Spray and Soap Dispenser in Spotshield Stainless

I'll follow up once I get it later next week
