Whew! Some of those mills are expensive! I need something like that at some point for salt and pepper, but for now will use my peppercorns that came in a jar with a grinder built into the top...

Jim I don’t think I’m good enough to need one of the expensive ones. Good grief I was raised on ground pepper that came out of a can. Goodness knows how old it was. Yes I like the taste of fresh ground pepper but in most of the things I cook it just won’t matter. I was looking at a Peugeot pepper grinder thats adjustable for $31.00 and I want to check on the one that has the AR platinum ratting. For 90% of what I do my 16 mesh from a bottle will work great. It’s the other 10% that needs help.

Much like some others on here, I have a Finamill for smaller amounts of pepper (and use other pods for sea salt and mixed peppercorns), and a blade coffee/spice grinder for larger amounts. That said, I've eyed the Pepper Cannon for a while now. It
s probably too expensive for me to justify the purchase, but I can always hope it will be gifted to me one day...

Not something you want to put on a snooty table, but reasonably priced, completely adjustable grind, works with corns, cracked, or (probably) coarse grind. Just looked, we bought in 2016.

Oxo products are usually a good value and well designed. This Oxo grinder has a ceramic mechanism which stays cleaner than metal and is easy to adjust. Nice grinder for $14!

I just bought the OXO Good Grips poultry shears because they did so well in several tests.

I like my coffee mill for spices…. But I always thought this was cool!

Here's the latest installment of Food Network host Alton Brown's new web series Cook Smart. The episode features Brown connecting a power drill with a pepper mill, something he's done previously on...

I did that exact thing a few years ago when I was making BBBR to give out as Christmas gifts. Saves time but not always appreciated by the lovely and gracious wife.

I’m a tools that get the job done guy. That is great!

Ok here’s where I ended up. I bought 2 grinders. I ordered a 8 inch Peugeot and an OXO grinder. I’ll either keep both or give the one I don’t care for to one of the kids. I only have $47.00 tied up in the pair. I just want enough fine grind pepper for the task at hand so I ruled the mortar and pestle out or getting the old coffee grinder out for such a small amount. The other thing being I’d have to clean the coffee grinder after every use so when I grind spices I don’t get pepper flavor. I’ll have an opinion of them I’ll share later. Thanks to every one of you!
