I bought the FoodSaver model: FM2100-000 at Costco. It works nicely for me. It's my first vacuum sealer so I have no clue how it compares to others. I don't remember how much I paid for it. Must be my Sometimer's disease kicking in.😡

They have it available on the official FoodSaver website for $119.99, no freight.

Please be careful ordering "resealable" vacuum bags. I have not found a brand that reliably holds a vacuum over time.

I bought a Weston after reading good reviews on them, especially over at America's Test Kitchen. I got the entry-level model, forget what it is but it looks about like my 10-year-old basic FoodSaver and works better.

There's a definite difference in bag/roll quality, I use the Weston material and they seem to be a lot less susceptible to leaking than the Foodsaver product.

        Bill

Based on comments here, we picked up a Foodsaver at Costco last year. Love it! Has an option to seal without vacuuming.

Highly recommend the Foodsaver based in our experience.

I always double seal the ends.

All you need are two functions; seal and suck & seal. The rest of the bells and whistles are just things to potentially go wrong.

Here's a good deal on a vacuum sealer. I bought a remanufactured Kitchen Aid mixer once. It was like brand new and has held up nicely.

Thanks for the heads up on the bags. I wound up getting the Foodsaver Gamesaver. Works great so far. Just in time for freezing a lot of brisket.
