I have the older one. Is the new one a lot better? My wife just got it for me for Xmas.
They tell temps the same. The new one has a backlight, uses aaa batteries, and instantly comes on when you pick it up. The screen also rotates so that the numbers are always upright. If it's worth it to you to get those features then the MK4 is worth the upgrade.

Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
That gasser of his comes with a more than adequate smoking option though. I'm going to give it try once he gets it installed. That will probably be next week.
Just ordered FIVE! I already have one and want to have one at places I frequent and a couple for my kids...they grew up! I love the product and use mine nearly every day...when I forget to pack it, I am a little lost at my destination when cooking. Solving that little problem now!
