I have one, I think $250 is not unreasonable for it. If you touch and hold it you realize how heavy and sturdy it is I have used it each of the last two weekends, yes you can get a great rotisserie chicken at Costco for $4.99 but I have done roast beef, riblets in a basket and fish on it and I have to say it really turns out amazing. Plus it is a lot of fun!
I got my Kamado Joe at a Costco roadshow, quite a savings versus the BGE and I am really happy with it. They have some really cool accessories that make the cooker extremely useful for a diverse range of cooks. They were smart with this rotisserie that it works for both their products and the BGE.
Again, say what you want about how one does or does not spend their money. I love this thing and would recommend to anyone who asked. Its fun and you can tell the difference in what you cooked.
