    Double barrel

Well, it was time. My old thermos flasks (cheap brand X thingies) just don’t cut it anymore. I’ve heard good things about Stanley, never owned or used one though. Let’s see if they live up to the hype! got the 1 liter versions.

I have a Stanley similar to that as well that I use for when I go camping. Works well. I have found that "pre-heating" it by letting boiling water sit in it gave give it some significant extra time. (Only used if I am overnighting it.)

The ones that work the best, although they certainly are stupidly expensive and perhaps overpriced, are those Yeti ones. I've never bought one myself, just gifted them as bribes, I mean, vendor relationship builders, from vendors at work.

The Yeti ones almost work too well. Taking coffee from a just brewed pot and putting it in there, it can take several hours before it has cooled down enough to take a sip! Those things keep the coffee hot until the next day!

The old made in USA Stanley thermoses are superior to the modern ones, I have two. As our family sells Yeti, I won't comment on the fact they are the best on the market...

Another Yeti fan. My gallon jug full of ice lasted 4 days! I took it full camping, forgot about it, and drank it on the way home with ice.

Told my wife it keeps hot things hot n cold things cold. She filled it full of hot tea n put in a popsicle. 😉 J. K.

Stanley is the best I have found, but something like a Yeti might be better. But who needs to keep coffee hot for five days?

Agree. If it just keeps my coffee warm for 2-3 hours I'm all good. Plus I don't want to pay a gazillion bucks for just a thermos. These Stanleys fit my budget just perfectly.

Henrik to extend hot time fill it with boiling water for 10 minutes or so before you fill it with coffee. I think doing that will keep your coffee hot till the end of the day.

That's exactly why I rarely use my Yetis. As well-built and indestructible as those Yetis are....most of the time, I just want the thing to keep the drink warm for 2-3 hours at most.

I used one of those Stanley flasks for YEARS ... loved it ... and I bet if I looked hard enough I could find it somewhere in the basement ... still with a bit of warm coffee in it from a mid-shift back in the 70's.

Stanley has been in my family forever from the vacuumed bottles to stainless bottles shown! Remembering the sound of broken glass after dropping the vacuumed bottle getting out of the truck. The start of a bad day!

Used the Stanleys for the better part of my career in the field same as my pop. Worked well for what I needed as I drink lots of coffee so it was usually gone before getting cold. These days I have limited need as Im an office dweller mostly but when I do have need its all yeti all the time now. Vast improvement in temp holding and versatility.

Good to know, we don't even have Yeti here in Sweden. Think I'll be happy with these two, but just in case I need an upgrade I know which brand to check out.

I'm an office dweller but much prefer my coffee to the free stuff at work. I'm very pleased with my Stanley dewar. I have an insulated cup in the hammertone green that just makes me smile when I use it. My dad had the hammertone green that he carried his coffee to work in.

I have one of those Stanleys that is at least 30 years old and still going strong. It was the Yeti before there was Yeti.

Well, I have one that I bought & have used for 49 years. Accidentally almost ran over it with my car about a year in, so it has a dent or two. But still kickin.

My dad & I were just talking about those Stanleys yesterday. He has an old 1-pint one and we both have old 1-quart ones. Them are nice thermoses and they last forever. His are as old as me!

I have been in construction and an outdoors man for over 30 years. Stanley has been the benchmark for keeping Coffee hot and things like Soups and Stews hot for a whole day in sub zero temps. My Stanley Coffee Thermos has been accidentally dropped from the third floor of a building, been kicked around on construction sites, been in frozen ice fishing conditions...Been left in a cold truck overnight...Always Hot coffee...Never once let me down. This particular model I bought at a garage sale over 30 years ago and was at least 20 years old when I got it....So it it is at least 50 years old and still as good as day one.... I have replaced the stopper and cup once or twice.
Henrik ..I think you made a good investment.

Tough to beat the old school Stanley and Coleman stuff. I have some of each from decades ago that I still use.

Yup! Henrik, you did good. My Stanley is as old as @troymeister's and mine is still going strong too, despite all the dents and scratches. Enjoy!

I've had mine since 1971 when I joined a company that had no access to coffee on site. Most everybody had a Stanley thermos, so I bought one. Eventually the company installed coffee machines and later break rooms. For the last 35 years or so, the Stanley has been relegated to camping, hunting, fishing and rolling around the floor of the boat drenched in salt spray. It looks a little worse for the wear, the cork is cracked, the cup is long gone, there's rust and dents, but it still keeps coffee as good as it did 50 years ago!

Its likely yours will be just as good (or better) 50 years from now.

My dad's from about 45 years ago. He was a heavy equipment operator and it fell off of the dozer he was working and ran it over. The dent is a perfect grouser impression.

I’ve had one of the old Stanleys for over 40 years. Been dropped down a mountain. Bent up but still works great. Agree with the preheating tip.
