Dr ROK , that is the same one I have. Pretty happy with it, but wanted to see what others use. That said, I do wish it had an adjustable neck.

@mgaretz and Max Good . I looked at the ones you mentioned, but think that it wont work on a Weber kettle handle. Are you using them on a Weber kettle?

      Thank you ALL. VERY much!

The Cuisinart Light I recommended will attach to most gas grill handles including many Weber models.

Thank you all for the inputs!

I have dug out my headlamp for me, and ordered the Cuisinart Max good recommended for my son's bday.

Thank you for all the help!!

I got a set of directional outdoor lights, pointed to my grills from 2 sides. Clark Griswold would be proud.

For quickers cooks, I use my headlamp. When I think I'll be out more frequently or on longer cookers, I pull out the outdoor extension cord and plug in the halogen shop light I picked up at Harbor Freight - like this one (only cheaper with the usual 20% coupon). Puts out some serious light. Although now the cord gets used for the pellet cooker, so I just use the flashlight on my iPhone to check cooks on it.

Personally I hire a couple strippers and have them stand on either side of me holding halogens. I find the 6 inch platform heels gets them up there at just the right angle.
I've heard head-lamps work OK too.

Hmmm. Strippers with head-lamps. There's a joke there somewhere.

I just don't want to light up my grill...I want to light up my food with the right color (spectrum). I realize the science of grilling is all about temperature and I got the toys (Thermapen, Maverick ) but Mrs Lucky (also known as Plaintiff #1) wants it to look pretty too. Does anyone have any experience on what types of lights produce the truest colors? (Canadian interpretation: What it looks like at noon (June) should be what it looks like at midnight (December) )

            Thanks,

            Pete

Daylight color temp is 4600k to 6500k. For the most part 5600k is felt to offer the best color rendering. Any lights in this range (4600k to 6500k) are going to show good color. IMHO

Fantastic Jon! I will leave it up to my kids on how to execute...they have till Fathers day to figure it out and considering how much it cost to educate them, they should be fine.
