I've read that the Aztecs would rotisserie a whole Spaniard seasoned with some Tony C's. You'd probably need a spit boy or 2 to help, though.

I'm pretty sure that Tony C's would be Italian ... but throw in a little Spanish chorizo, some Bomba rice, and a bit of saffron and you might be on to something ...

This and the rotisserie baskets discussed bring to mind that scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.... Kali Ma! Kali Ma! That was like a rotisserie basket - it even spun to flip the guy over, before it descended into the lava...

Amazon has other models for charcoal grills/smokers. This was just a great photo.
I always thought about getting a Rib o Lator for the rotisserie so I could do 4 racks of ribs, or load up on wings, thighs, veggies, ears of corn, potatoes, etc whatever I could put into the trays using my kettle, roti and with this attachment. I just never pulled the trigger.Last edited by Purc; August 20, 2022, 05:40 PM.

I have the bbq guys version of rib o lator. It’s fun to use but it can be a real pain to clean. https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...622#post989622

I think everybody has covered most everything. I can add that I occasionally do whole-huli-huli-chicken and/or Cornish game hens on the rotisserie with pretty damned excellent results.
... hmmmm ... maybe this weekend?
... I wonder if anyone has ever done huli-huli duck???

Steven Raichlen has a whole pineapple recipe (lots of turbinado, cloves an other spices) he roasts with a weed torch that we replicated with the rotisserie and a handheld propane torch.Originally posted by hoovarmin View PostWhole pineapple

Fired up all of the burners + the rotisserie burner + the propane torch. It was excellent.Last edited by McFlyfi; August 20, 2022, 08:16 PM.
