Meatup with Meathead in Chicago?

The timing is a bit off for me, however I could drive if I stopped off in Pa. overnight. Flights from buffalo to Chicago can be very inexpensive. September would be great. Cost of the hotels is above my budget but I’m sure I could find an alternative. Would one feel that a woman traveling single is relatively safe? I’m having a real laugh right now as I used to walk Harlem in the evening without any qualms. I’m older now!

I'm a 64yo female, and I go all over by myself (actually, kind of prefer it.) Of course, I've gotten myself into some sticky wickets occasionally, but nothing awful, and I would do this by myself.

I can't give a definite yes just yet, but my wife is open to it and she has a cousin in Chicago who's been begging us to visit. So it's looking good and I will be so excited!

I went to Windy City Smokeout last year and am planning on going again this year. I went with my wife as a last minute thing on that Sunday. Great food and beer selection. While I’m not a country music fan and know very little about it I enjoyed the music. my wife likes country and she liked it. Plus it’s on the outdoor screens of the United Center so you still watch who’s on stage.

I too would stay at my own hotel via the Cook County property taxes I pay 💰.

Count mrteddyprincess in one way or another. My wife might join me. She might not, but I'm going to be in Chicago starting on that Thursday. I won't be staying at the hotel chosen, but I will be commuting in from the Northern suburbs to join the group. I live in South Chicago (Indy) and can't wait to Meat Up with you all in July!
