WayneT made another stop on his way north today. Wayne and I met for lunch at Smoke Creek, an area bbq joint more or less on his route. It was my first time there so a new experience for both of us.
The bbq was pretty good, not great. The pulled pork was the best of the lot on my sampler platter which also included chopped brisket, ham, turkey, and pulled chicken. My sides of mac &cheese and smoked beans were both ver good. Wayne had a bowl of brisket chili that he said was very good. BUT, as with his dinner during Mini Meatup part 1 last night, I forgot pics of the food. Too busy talking about this and that. 🙄. But here’s one of me and Wayne.
Had a great time Wayne! Looking forward to seeing you again in May at the NC Meatup.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Yes, Pit folks, I had the great pleasure of meeting yet another of our AR community and Jfrosty27 is a great example of why I enjoy this place so much. When culinary and social skills coalesce, it’s a recipe for the healthy, constructive exchange of shared passions.
