I’d love to have chosen the Char Griller Grand Champion but I honestly don’t have the room. I’ve always wanted to do something to help out our firefighters, first responders, or policemen and women. Winning today has given me a great opportunity to do so and I’m so appreciative of AR to help me with that! I went to a nearby fire station just now and spoke with one of the heroes there, Captain Stephen [first name] After introducing myself and telling him why I’m there, he showed me their dedicated outdoor cooking area. [I’ve never seen dirtier grates in my life] They already had an offset smoker which they use for charcoal and sometimes wood grilling. They can’t do long smoked cooks for obvious reasons, so ribs and briskets are out of the question. They also had 2 additional, side by side grills, similar to what you’d see in a camp ground or rest area. They had those hooked up to natural gas to use.

During our conversation I showed him our 2nd place prize choices and talked a little about each one. He said “ You know, we’ve actually been talking about getting a griddle for the station.” Alright I thought, something they can use and need! I felt so good being able to help them out with that. He explained that all cookers and related equipment they have to buy themselves, the city does not furnish any of it. He also told me that “technically” for any donated items, we’re supposed to go through The City of Houston for approval…. screw that I thought. But, I’m sure that’s just a formality which can easily be overlooked. 😉😉. He had no problem with our arrangement and was very appreciative. Sooo, Huskee , Me and Captain Stephen would love to have the Cuisinart 360 Griddle Cooking Center! This has been a great day for me and I’m so appreciative of Meathead Huskee and all our mods here at AR! Thanks so much guys!
