    500 gallon RF compact pit

Here's our latest beauty queen. The new owner wanted a rustic looking pit with large capacity. It is reverse flow with a 1/2" thick firebox tucked underneath. Rest of the pit is 1/4" and will have dual stacks. I will deliver it tomorrow. Weighs about 1500 kilos. Each counter weight is 45 lbs. This modelo we name "El capitán"

Rugby players must get really hungry. Once again I get to enjoy seeing what your shop can produce.

Interesting. The fellows over at Pitts and Spitts, who made my custom pellet cooker, utilize a similar design by putting the fire box underneath in one of their cookers. They swear by it yet I don't see that design very often. How do you like the way it cooks, seems the dynamics of hot air rising instead of being drawn across the grates would give a different result. Just curious.

Otherwise, it's EL CAPITAN....AYE, AYE, AYE, AYYYYYEEE !!!!!

Troutman It is effectively an offset reverse flow pit, just the firebox is moved under the rf plate. This improves 2 things. The heat/ smoke does not have to travel so far , so less friction resulting in greater flow of air. Firebox is underneath so more heat is transmitted directly into the cooker, and not the atmosphere making it more efficient. There are also holes in the top of the firebox to allow heat directly to the reverse flow plate so it transmits heat to the cook chamber, resulting in more even temps.

Yea you did say reverse flow, that directs the heat/smoke across the gates to the stacks. I get it now. Interesting design none-the-less.

Here it is up on wheels to give you a better idea of the size. Waiting on the restaurant to finish some mods before I take it there. I may fire it up and give it a dry run next week to test it a little.
