Minion bars?

No, not where critters from those movies hang out...

I've seen a few articles where someone uses a burn box with baffles in it to control the burn rate of charcoal. And I've seen some Minion Bars on Amazon

So, the question that comes up is, have you used these things, either the burn box or a burn box modified with Minion Bars?

Was it a good thing? Was it worth the cost?

I'm using a cyberq and that brings up the question of whether that using both is more fussing over the fire than is really needed.

In my earlier years, I'd have made some Minion Bars in the shop behind the house. Sadly, we don't live there any more.

I just have a kettle with a SnS, so I can’t say the combo of the bars and a fan would help — I suppose that’d depend on where the air from the fan hits the coals. If it’s from the bottom it may be a perfect combination but if from the side, it may be too much fiddling.
