I'm considering buying the Engelbrecht 1000.. The price is $1000 which is considerably lower cost wise, although I'm working on shipping prices because I have to have it shipped to me.. Anybody has one? Yay/nay?

Sorry, I don't know the cooker or which cookers you already have. I assume it will either do something better than your current cookers do or something they can't do. Or, are you just in search of different cooking experience?

It certainly looks like a fun, quality, piece of kit. I can imagine cooking Tri Tip on one with the Argentine setup. However, I don't know anyone who has one, so no real advice for you.

I think I might have to... Sadly I bought a few grills trying to compensate for what this would've cost me a couple years back when I was looking at it and now looking at everythingI think I definitely bought one and more totally up what I paid for all the others!!

I think Meathead has one. I saw him using it in one of his videos a couple of years ago and I was so impressed by it, I wrote him a private message to ask him what it was. If it's not that exact cooker it's just another version by Engelbrecht that Meathead owns.

At Meathead's class I told him if he ever wanted to sell it, let me know bc I'd been eyeing it for sometime but after shipping and all the additional, it just seemed too steep at the time.. As I said to Fireman, with all the grills and accessories I've got, I've definitely bought it and then some

I'd point out that we never sell any products given to us for testing and review. I believe in the case of Engelbrecht, the manufacturer chose to take the unit back after testing was complete.

Timcee, you now have a mountain of evidence to pull the trigger; Max, Meathead, Breadhead & well ol' DW & me don't count cuz we're just rootin ya on. I think it was Breadhead awhile back said the financing pain is short lived, like a day or so. Now, if your not feeding your kids or ya have to rob a bank to get it done, that's another story. Also, if it's a marital thing, well there are ways around that, we'll help ya with that as need be. Enjoy, eat good & remember, have fun. Cookin is just to much fun!

Yeah... if I were looking for another cooker that would definitely be my first choice. It's ALMOST as versatile as my Big Green Egg.🤔 Adding the Santa Maria option makes lots of sense to me.
