    Franklin Pits in Pittsburgh..

    OK offset dreamers, there are two (2!) Franklin pits available within a half hour of Pittsburgh. Speaking as someone who’s watched the Chicago ads for years without seeing an LSG, Lang, or Franklin, this is an amazing occurrence. Get busy and rent a trailer!

    Most likely. These are people who should've started with an OC Pecos or used Brazos, just to see if a stick burner was their thing.

    I suspect there's many more, with all brands of offsets, who are contemplating sales

      The owner of the 2nd pit says he prefers smoking on his Lang.

      I would think you’re correct about there being many more, but they sure aren’t around here.

    And I'll add, the second one has not been well taken care of. Doesn't appear to have been seasoned. They've left ash in the firebox, did not bother to clean it out to sell it. Its been neglected.

    Compare that firebox door pic with mine, that is pitch black. I put beef tallow on mine about every 2nd or 3rd cook. I use a 6" paint roller to apply .

      +2 on the beauty of your pit, Lynn.

      Cook the brisket on the Franklin, then season the Franklin with tallow from the brisket. It’s the smoker circle of life!

    Oh, man. I'd be all over that first one if I had the disposable income right now! Alas, my wife recently lost her job to a down-sizing initiative so the belts are tightened.
