    Johnson smoker in terlingua

Saw this sweet trailer down in the terlingua area (lajitas specifically). What an absolute beast. I have no need for so much cooking area, but maybe one day! If you smoke it they will come, right!?!?

I've never seen a reverse flow smoker that big before. How hot does that holding chamber get?

          Large thing is large!

Curious how the thermometers aren't all at the same level.

If you look at the product page there are three separate areas and two are completely independent. The smaller tank is an independent charcoal grill, and the vertical looks like it can be completely closed off as a “warming oven.” I think the thermometers a just placed at the mid level grate in each chamber. I didn’t open the doors since it wasn’t my rig, but here is the product page. I’ve not ever used a reverse flow smoker, but conceptually I can see how it would work well in a large design. And from what I’ve heard Johnson smokers are exceptionally good rigs.

Cook a brisket, smoke sausage, & charcoal grill a steak. Reverse flow system, smoker, front charcoal grill, counterweighted doors, tandem trailer, ample storage

When I was in the DFW area I almost pulled the trigger on one of their smokers since they are local to DFW. The thing that always made me laugh is the first sentence about any of their smokers in the "Conclusions" section of the description is "All in all this is a very efficient unit."

Haha does seem a little self righteous. But I’ve talked to a few people that really enjoy theirs.
