First one from the initial batch I've seen for resale. For folks interested the pictures give a bit more detail of the construction. Looks to be pretty basic, but, that's also how it's pitched.

I found this link. Says they are made in Texas, so confused about your SoCal question. Regardless, I’m not personally in the market for an offset, so I’ll pass.

Some people just buy things to be part of the first batch or group, even though they don't really NEED them. Or they think they want/need it, but it doesn't fit their niche. Or they know it's going to be an in-demand item, so they jump on it early to be part of the first group and then know it's going to be easy to resell.
Doesn't SEEM like he's making a profit off of it, when you factor in shipping from ~Dallas, TX to California. No big deal.
Sales are booked out for a bit, so if you are wanting one this season and you're in the area, this might be a good option. It's a very popular pit right now for various reasons - obviously Jeremy Yoder's name and brand makes for a lot of interest, and it IS being produced by a reputable build shop that has good quality, being shipped around the country - it's still early in the process since release, so over time seeing more people running them and posting results is likely to drive demand UP and wait times OUT is my guess. I've got a basic idea where they're at in production and demand, and it's not going to start showing up at your local BBQ store or big box place for sale any time soon.
It's a simple, quality made pit that performs well and does what it's supposed to do. No frills, no add-ons, no gimmicks or fancy bling. Half the price of Franklin's pits. All depends on what you're looking for in a cooker, really.
Or you can come up here and I'll build you something! Oh wait, no... I don't take orders!
If people have FB and scroll through the comments, the seller says he bought it to see what it looks like in person. He has other offsets he uses a lot already and figured he'd offer it up at what it cost him to get it shipped to him. He does say if no one buys it in the next week or so he's gonna season it and start playing with it.
" The Solution " is what Jambo and LSG have been doing for years.
If capacity in the cooker is a big deal to you, this might have some appeal. Me, I won't be doing pop-ups trying to establish a barbecue joint, and I won't be cooking for my Sunday School class or the little league football team, so I really don't care about capacity.
I'm not following what you're saying , but the Franklin is not for everybody. I could not cook 3 briskets on the Franklin, but it will do a great job on one brisket, which is what I do.
Me, I'm not on board with more capacity created by a baffle. I don't want any restriction on the air flow. It seems there's a lot of concern over making the entire cooking grate usable or maybe that's just a selling point to differentiate the cooker from others.
Well, it all depends on your concerns about 'restriction'. I see a lot of guys on some groups all mostly concerned with 'flow' - they want it to run run run run... flow flow flow flow... but honestly, that leads to more fuel consumption for a given amount of smoke flavor and cooking - although convective heat cooks faster. To me, it's a tradeoff between flow and turbulence, which leads to more smoke flavor. That baffle plate and stack damper 'restriction' isn't really hurting cooking at al.
I'm with realdocBBQ here, it's a trade-off, and that baffle plate ain't restricting anything. It's redirecting (partially), but that's very different from restricting. And I think the construction is good. The air coming in from the firebox is crazy hot.
10 years ago I would have been interested. But that ship has sailed. $3,100 a bit of change for a new product. Jambo backyard $300 cheaper and a proven product.
