Anyone have any experience with 1904 pits? I’m liking the Forsyth model on their website and they’re similar price as most other offsets but unlike a lot of other brands I can’t find any reviews, YT videos or nothing.
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Jimmy Lee the reason you cannot find anything about them is that the domain name 1904pits.com was first registered on 2-28-2022, and the web page does not appear to have been active before 2-20-2023. So the website is REAL new. Which makes me suspect that they are either:
1. A brand new company, so there will be no track record or reviews of their pits.
2. A scam artist taking money, but not really making pits.
They could very well be legitimate, but there is no way of knowing right now, and even if they are, unless they are near you and you can physically visit them and inspect their products, I would be afraid to send them my money...
EDIT:
Now, they do say you can see their products at the St. Louis BBQ Store - a place I have mail ordered sauces and rubs from in the past, and know to be a legitimate business. The implication is that they do NOT have a store front of their own.

Be aware that shipping any type of offset will usually result in $500-600 in freight charges for delivery. Factor that into the cost of buying something within driving distance, that you can pickup yourself.
Ok. Yes I saw that store in St. Louis. I really like the firebox grill. Most styles with the grill on the firebox seem small and low. Looks like a really nice pit. If it had good reviews and more people saying good things about them I’d maybe make the trip. It’s closer to MN than most other makers. Seems like most are deeper south. That makes buying a big heavy smoker difficult. We have a bbq store near me that sell Yoder, Franklins, Outlaw, and Anchor. I really like the Outlaw but it’s $4500 with no cowboy grill.
I visited the St. Louis BBQ store and was impressed enough with them that I tried to look them up online later, but had no more luck than you. (I also hadn't remembered the exact number and searched for 1920 smokers and a few other years.)
