Just another truck load of bbq pits

A little peak of what I have been doing. Pits designed for the hungry gutted. Ready for a 16,000 km trip.

Do you weld the nuts on your hinges??

We have lock nuts but I'd be afraid of the heat on these.

Jerod Broussard If the pit gets hot enough to melt those locknuts you have bigger problems to worry about!

Stranger things have happened to me.

Wow, those are beautiful. In my simple world I don’t need one that big,but I’m glad there are places that do. That green pipe on the smoke stacks looks very familiar, all the pipeline pipe I inspected for 20 years was that epoxy coated green pipe. As always you’re doing great work.

You see anybody with pancake welding helmets around breakfast time??

I haven’t seen anyone in a pancake helmet since I retired. Those pipeline welders were some of the best people I’ve ever met. They were truly free. You could see one in south Texas today and meet him 2 weeks later in Wyoming.

You have been busy, cannot imagine how much fuel it takes. As well as how much meat you can cook. You could feed the hole town.

Very impressive. Just thinking about how much effort it would take to fill one of those big ones up makes me tired...

Its a safety first operation....love seeing guy(s) hanging off the back of a fork lift as counter weights....
My nephew has come across a bunch of old air compressor tanks that are about 60" in length.
He's built one prototype offset so far that apparently worked really well for a first time build by his accounts.
Sold it for $1600, however my brother laments his electricity bill should be in the two grand range from all the cutting, welding and grinding.
They started on a second unit over the weekend, still an offset but with a few small changes/improvements they learned from building the first one.
Keep up your builds, always interesting to see what you've come up with.

For those that like to consume additional calories. Or those that like to excercise their stomachs.
