    I hate Costco (not really)

I walk into my local Costco to get a few things for work and as I am walking past the meat dept I see brisket for $2.79 lb. Then I see the pork butt, baby backs and pork chops. Needless to say.... Click image for larger version

I just recently got whole Choice short rib plates (4 bone) from my local Safeway. Best short ribs I ever smoked (or ate). Check your local mega-mart.

Glad I don't have a Costco near me, I'd be broke.

Yep--you save sooo much money that you afford anything else. That said, I can't live without Costco--meat, wine, cheeses and other deli stuff, fresh veggies/fruits, some canned goods, paper products...

I don't hate Costco, I was a member for years until the GR hit and I was living on credit cards, none of which Costco would take.

What I did hate was my nearest location, impossible to get to in traffic and once you got there you literally took your life in your hands driving and walking through the parking lot. I never figured out why but it seems even our usually insane and incompetent Atlanta drivers turned into some special kind of psychopathic maniac once they finally made it into the parking lot.

I gave up and switched to BJ's, they don't have the selection Costco offers but at least I can go there for paper towels and laundry detergent without risking life and limb.

I'm a huge Costco fan and I have one rule that helps me stay that way. I never ever ever never shop there on the weekend. Ever. It will make you hate humanity.

Brisket for 2.79 a pound? I would definitely try my first brisket if I could get it for that price! I can't find it under $5.99 a pound, and that's only choice.

You cant tell in the picture, but that is PRIME for $2.79/lb. I did my first brisket last week and it was as good as or better than any restaurant meat I have had.

Costco... Finding a parking spot is a blood sport! Worst offender's? Older Asian women with very small cars with loud horns. People watching... hilarious! Watching people push those YUGE shopping carts around is like watching bumper cars at the state fair. The wine department, glorious! The #1 wine retailer in the country. It requires lots of self control. Flat screen TV display right by the front door. Costco won't be happy until every room in your house has a 66" wide screen TV that they can spy on you with. The meat department... Pit Master's BBQ nirvana.🙈🙈🙈 - enter at your own risk. The checkout lines... Like going to the airport!😡 I find it nearly impossible to escape Costco for under $500.😡 Loading your trunk with your captured goods... Go slow just to see how long it will take an older Asian woman in a small car with a loud horn beep at you and yell obscenities out of her window, then slow down and walk your cart back to the front door just to goose her anxiety level up a notch.😎

#1 selling gross dollar SKU in Costco's history... Hot dog and a coke for $1.50.👍

Never go home without a huge rotisserized chick for $4.99, ever!!!

Our Costco in Bellingham Washington is crazy busy with Canadians since it's right next to the border. Doesn't stop me from going. If you start crunching numbers on things you will find there are lots of items that you can get for as little as 25% of the cost of the other grocery stores around by buying in bulk. That's insane. Not every deal is like that but they are always awesome prices.

I just go on Tuesday or Wednesday to avoid the crowds. I always park out in the middle of nowhere so I don't have to watch someone flat out steal my spot while I'm waiting to get in it and have to restrain my self from kicking the crap out of them to teach them some basic manners there momma failed to teach them. It's not so bad if you know how to keep the blood pressure down.

I NEVER go on the weekends. Usually on Wed or Thurs. Tried once on a Saturday and thank God I wasn't carrying that day or I might have ended up in jail. Those people are nuts. I work at a large international airport I am used to dealing with stupid people but they took it to a whole other level.

Northside Brian I am wondering if your trip to Costco is evidence of a new syndrome - More Meat Syndrome.

MMS is just a natural extension of MCS because those cookers and gadgets need something to work their magic on.👍

I suffer from More Ribs Syndrome, a subset of Costco Syndrome.

My love for really good ribs was the original reason I bought my first smoker.😜

Nice score. I'd say cook it all at once and invite friends over!
