    Richardsons, Ealing, London

The website says it all: http://www.richardsonsbutchers.com
Been going there for 20 years. Since discovering amazingribs.com (a life changing experience), the butchers who work there have been helping to get the right cuts and are keen to hear the reports of my BBQing of brisket, ribs, turkey, lamb, etc
PS I have been BBQing a goose at Christmas for last 6 years which turns out great.

I was talking to the OP. (who is still a paying member. So I thought maybe would be the time to pull him out of the wood work and get involved) Just trying to get more people involved, man! Troutman

I will try to make some meaningful contributions once I've worked out my way around the channels.

Whoops, I was not addressing you about making contributions. (Although it would be great to hear from you) Please don't take it that way. You are certainly more than welcome to hang out in the back ground. However, the more people that get involved, the better! I just like to get folks involved if we can. Let me know if you need help navigating any part of the site! Happy to help! Thanks for your support! HuwGT

Thank you for posting. Hope to hear more from our UK members about the state of BBQ in your part of the world.

It's sad when a trusted butcher shop goes out of business. I'd be heartbroken if my not-so-local (1 hour away) butcher shop went under. I'd have no place to get my tri-tips, bavette and Denver steaks, etc. Not to mention my heritage $$$ turkeys.

There is a butcher shop I have just discovered about 2 miles away in a part of Ealing called Pitshanger. The shop is called Hook and Cleaver and opened in 2011. They soon built a great reputation for quality meat and opened a second store in South Ealing which is about a mile away although I still prefer to shop at the Pitshanger store. They are a traditional British butcher that specialise in rare breed cattle, pigs and lamb. They will however do any cut of meat you want including "tri-tip" and "Boston Butt". I picked up a Boston Butt from them yesterday to cook through the night tonight if it ever stops raining. I'm going to use a Flame Boss 500 that arrived last week so hopefully I should have 3 kilos of pulled pork by 14:00 tomorrow. If it turns out ok I'll post a couple of images.

          Huw.
