I never really had any interactions with him, but this is sad. I hope his family is okay. Beyond that, I really enjoyed his contributions here and will miss that. RIP, Ernest.

This is so sad. Ernest gave me many an inspiration in the earlier days of The Pit when he posted most often. When they say a picture is worth 1000 words, they were thinking of Ernest's food photos. Amazing.

He will be missed.

I think this is a great way to honor a Pit member who has passed on. I did the same when I learned that EdF had died. It was almost stressful making sure I got that grilled pork and peaches just right.

Ernest was definitely one of our unique members. His photos of his plates and concoctions were not only exceptional from a vision standpoint but his construction of some of his dishes put him in a league few are in. When he put anything on the Pit you had to pay attention. Truly a unique, gentle fella.

Very sad news. I fondly remember "The Ernest Effect" in SUWYC. Nobody wanted to be the first one to post after him because there was no chance that whatever you were going to post, that it could hold a candle to whatever amazing creation he had just put up. RIP Friend.
