    Howdy, all!

Hi there. After signing up, it asks to introduce yourself.

I'm SmokyPopPop, hands-down the best griller and smoker of my entire household (and my wife agrees)!

I've always loved grilling and smoking; been fairly serious about smoking for about 5 years now. Had a charcoal box-type smoker; rusted through and got me an electrical (sorry, Meathead, I know, I know). I just finished reading his new book, and gotta say I learned TONS and am reading it through a 2nd time and still learning more. I also bought the book for one of my friends for Christmas.

So, hello to all, and Happy [smoky] Holidays to all!

Welcome from the NW burbs of Chicago. I just "graduated" from 5 yearsish using an electric smoker. Absolutely enjoyed the food that came off of it and the ease of use.

The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling.

Saved my a$$ on Thanksgiving: 1) didn't trust the pop-up, but used my instant-read thermo, 2) when the breasts were done, I removed the leg/thigh combos and baked them till done.

Best damn turkey EVER! Thanks, Meathead!
