I make food that family and friends seem to really enjoy, but I won't be winning any competitions any time soon.

The competition you CAN win is your BBQ against the best BBQ joints in your area. Those goofy bbq contests are about style and "pop" in flavor and REALLY are not how anyone cooks for their family and friends. You are a real winner when your friends and neighbors prefer your Q over Sonny's, Little Willie's, Boo's, the Pig&Pint, MS Faye's etc.

If you aren't better than Dickey's though you still have some work to do.
