Welcome to The Pitmaster Club! Don't be too afraid to tackle a brisket on your kettle/SnS. It can be done and it works wonderfully! I've done a 14lb (pre-trimmed) packer on the 22"...of course it helps to not have a long brisket, mine was on the shorter side for its weight, but still it is a nice smoker with that SnS.

My current cookers include a Shirley Fabrication 24x36 patio model; Weber Performer with the Slow-n-Sear 2.0 & Drip & Griddle; Pit Boss Series 2 propane smoker & SnS Travel Kettle.
Straight Whiskey: I'm a bourbon guy. All time favorite Pappy Van Winkle 12 year. Standard go to Blantons
Blended Whiskey: James Oliver American Whiskey
I also enjoy an occasional cigar
Congratulations on getting out of NY, from a New Yorker who is still planning their escape!
As others have said, no need to wait on WSM, that performer with the SNS is a very versatile cooker!
