    Hello from Central Alabama

Howdy folks, been looking around and impressed with the knowledge and information to be found in here. I've been cooking since i was a little fella, but began being serious with BBQ about 15 years ago. Currently own a Weber Summit Charcoal GC, which I absolutely love. It replaced by Traeger, which as y'all know is mechanical and things just start breaking. It was a trusty smoker/cooker, but I've found my love for charcoal again. I've got a Pit Barrel Cooker at the hunting camp which is super easy to prepare meals. Been toying with the notion of purchasing a PK, but can't decide on the 360 or the classic. Maybe there are some in here that have experience with them. I would mainly use the PK as my back up grill when I've got large parties or need separate temps or just want to mix it up. Certainly, the ease of travel is a need in a 2nd grill as it will be nice when I go to church events, tailgates or camping.

Sorry if this is long, but again, these forums are well run and Meathead has put a good team together.

Welcome to the pit! I really like the PK360, its height is great for working, tha classic requires constant bending over to tend to it.

Great advice Henrik, this is an often overlooked thought. I'm going to look the grills over at a local dealer. I'll give those other recommendations a look-see. Awesome forums!
