ha. well today happens to be my birthday so the wife did say I can get what I wanted!

i'm torn between the original and the plus though. Is the coal basket really that important?

I have the plus, and think it works well. I did only just receive it and did cook twice with it. The coals definitely stay in the SnS longer without falling through the grate. The only negative may be that ash builds up a bit. A quick stir and shake does get rid of any excess ash during the cook.

I'm still surprised that the SnS is not being sold as a package with Weber grills.

Happy Birthday! I am still on the fence with these Mysterious Devices called SNS, DNG. I may purchase them when my Birthday Month gets here. Keep us posted to how you like it.
