Hello, I decided not to wait for my 90 day trial to expire and I signed up for my first year membership.
I've been reading some of the information on this site for a while and it is truly amazing how much everyone helps each other out and the amount of knowledge out there.
I'm in western North Carolina and I retired in late Dec. 2016. I was given a monetary gift by my co-workers to put towards a smoker, which I've been thinking about doing for 2-3 years. I pulled the trigger on a Blaz'N Grill works Grand Slam which I've had for a little over a month. I'm still learning how to use it, but I've done a pork butt, turkey breast, Moink balls, and I cold smoked some cheese that I finally broke into after letting it set for 30 days and it was great.
I just took off my first brisket about 2 hours ago and I can't wait for dinner in a couple of hours, I only hope it turns out as well as the other things I've done so far.
I'm still reading Meathead's book, there is a lot to digest, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is still thinking about buying it.
I look forward to learning as much as I can from all the folks who have been grilling and smoking longer than me, thanks for the great site.
