Another good place to look is the Godl Medal Giveaway List. They have a pretty good spread of cookers there. You may find something else you like, instead of gas. The link is below. The Blaze cart is about right for your price range.

Congratulations on your retirement! Thanks for your service and welcome to the Pit. I look forward to learning from your experiences cooking outdoors. As for gasser, my only experience was cheap ones that were good for searing but not for flavor so I now have pellet and charcoal.

I just want to say it has been my pleasure to serve all these years.....thank you. I serve my country, and what I believe historically we represent, not necessarily always the administration. I love this country, and am proud of what we have meant to the world. We have not been perfect, but we have always, as citizens tried and cared about trying. All that aside, I'm just looking to get the best bang for my minimal retirement buck. I appreciate any advice offered......

Welcome to the Pit SFCGary ! I'm a Weber Man through and through. I currently own 3 Weber Gas Grills. And I LOVE and use all of them. But I don't go for the fancy stuff. Mine are all entry level. I love them because they provide a very even cooking surface and they are durable. Replacement parts are also readily available if needed. I'm actually thinking about purchasing a Weber Kettle w/SnS so that I have a charcoal option....
I don't know your personal situation. But if you like to feed a big group now and then consider the Genesis II E 610. It has a HUGE cooking surface with 6 independent burners. It set's up great for indirect cooking. And carries a Ten Year Warranty. Retails for about $1,299. That should fit within your stated budget with enough left over for a Pit Barrel Cooker......(Wink)

Have you looked at Memphis grills, yet? I know we talked about this earlier in the thread. And I didn't get back to you. I know they can sear very well. The fire is in the middle of the unit. Searing on the memphis is very effective. At least it was on the unit My buddy has at his place. It is a joy to cook on.
.......But they are north of $2000.
But if its your Last Grill.....then maybe you have some wiggle room.
