Hello all I would like to introduce myself from Sunny WI. My name is Greg Copper. Ive been grilling pretty much since my dad would let me light the grill. About age 10 or so. Back when we drowned the charcoal in lighter fluid and throw the match and make a fireball and then added a little more fluid for effect. Lol. About 20 yrs ago I asked for a smoker for Christmas. My wife bought me a Masterbuilt cabinet smoker and Ive been hooked ever since. I smoked some ribs on it and they were delicious. Only I had to cut my ribs in half because they were too wide for the smoker. I was then on a mission to buy a pellet smoker. The Traeger was about the only one out at the time but it was too expensive for me. So I finally settled for a used Camp Chef (their smallest unit) for $150. I was really getting into smoking now and decided i wanted to get a new one so after alot of research I purchased a new Rectec at the time now Recteq. Very impressive company btw. But not promoting just introducing myself. Now I am bored with pellet grills and from the inspiration from a fellow member Richard Chryz I bought a 26 Weber and I got a XL SNS from my kids fo Christmas. And with the help of YouTube snd Richard Ive been learning the art of charcoal cooking. Richard thought I would get alot out of a membership on here so I thought I would try it out. So here I am introducing myself to the group and get y’all caught up with who I am. Im excited to be here!

Welcome to The Pit from Texas. You have a great mentor, pit master and baker in Richard Chrz. Watch out for all the other necessities he can teach you about....it could get expensive but that's the fun of this journey. The Weber Kettle and SnS are a great combo, I used mine last night for dinner. Have fun and post pictures of your cooks.
