Hello,

I have wanted to join for a while and finally smartened up and did!
I have a Weber Spirit e315(propane for those long winter months) Pit barrel Jr, a Weber 22 Master touch kettle (sold the Broil King), and an electric Masterbuilt smoker. I started low and slow cooking since covid.... needed a new hobby. It was quite fun trying to see if you could successfully smoke in -40 weather! Turns out the temp doesn't really matter just wind.

Welcome! Thanks for your support. We don't have the same cold you do, surely, but I smoke year round and once I smoked in -22 F (my record) and other than my face hurting and nose sticking shut when I inhaled everything worked the same as in nice weather. I find rain is the worst, worse than wind.

Usually make my own riff’s on Memphis Dust and BBBR. Also use Meathead’s commercial rubs and occasionally try something new. I like a couple from Tuffy Stone and Kinder’s. After several surgeries, I’m very sensitive to “spicy” stuff, so I need to be careful about heat levels.
