Dave here, residing in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Been a lover of outdoor cooks since I was a pup. Have been BBQ'ing myself for close to 2 decades, and grilling for even longer. But, just got into the smoke game a few years ago and my family of four have never eaten such great foods before! Currently own a Masterbuilt GS 800, a 2 burner Blackstone, a 5 burner DynaGlo LP, and a 22" Weber kettle, in copper. Currently rocking the Fireboard Spark for temps. Looking for recipe inspirations, the science behind it all, and to share some of my cooks with the community. With all that said, I am always open for a local meetup in a backyard, or even a bar/pub (not to far from you, Meathead (would love to meet the legend in person)). Any specific questions for me... Just ask!

Howdy from Houston Dave and welcome to The Pit! Nice introduction, sounds like you’ve got a great stable of cookers too. You’ll have fun here as well as a great place to learn.
Currently own:
Weber 22 and 26 Kettle.
Regular gasser with rotisserie.
Custom built horizontal stick burner.
Custom built duel fuel "whole hog" cooker.
Many other tools of the trade.
Welcome to the pit from Southern Illinois. You have discovered MCS - more cookers syndrome. It has a tendency to get worse hanging out here. Not a bad thing, just can’t do it all with a few cookers.
Haha. I understand that, and so does the wife, unfortunately now. Next purchase will be another offset to replace the one I gifted, but custom made (not by me); not a big box brand.
Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
