    Condor

Hi everyone. Been a member for a few years. Lurking in the shadows learning a lot. Would rate my BBQ level as a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale. Live in Howell MI, small town between Lansing and Ann Arbor. Retired Engineer living in a condo. HOA regulations say only one cooker so I have been making my Weber kettle do it all. Have a SnS, a PID controller and Thermoworks Smoke. Happy with the results I'm getting smoking on the kettle. Times I need more real-estate. Would like a WSM or a Pit Barrel, but because of regulations thinking about a Cajun Bandit smoker conversion kit and a hanging system. Was looking for advice regarding how that system would perform. Can I expect the same results with the CB kit as I would get with WSM and will the CB kit with the hanging system result in food like from a Pit Barrel?

If you have a garage maybe you could keep one cooker out and one in the garage. Of course that's assuming it's not a major task switching them around.
And welcome to the posting side.

I haven't specifically used the kettle conversion kit, but I have always been intrigued by it. Everything else I have gotten from Cajun Bandit has been top notch, so I would expect no less from this.

        Welcome to the Pit!

Welcome from Fort Worth. I love my kettle and have the top-notch Cajun Bandit roti. I have seen/read about the kit but never tried it.I looked at the WSM with hanging kit and the PBC and I bought an Oklahoma Joe Bronco.Since you are only allowed 1 cooker it may be worth a try. BUT I would suggest you look on YouTube for Phil n Florence. Phil Rogers, now deceased, was retired from SC Power Company and loved to modify his cookers. He took a 22" WSM and added a few small cheap brackets on the interior and so he could add a grill grate and used the WSM smoker as a 22" Kettle, he used it with his SnS, his Cajun Bandit roti, as well as added a hanging kit. He even used wood splits as a Santa Maria grill. Now you can do everything with just one WSM smoker. He was great and I do miss watching his videos. RIP Phil. Video is from July 29, 2017.

Keep tinkering & askin, there will be some way to git the job done. I have a gadget that is a grate that sits on top, fergot what it is called. What do ya’ll need the real estate for, grillin or smokin? Welcome, continue to eat good & have fun!
