Hey,
I just joined, this looks like a good place with a lot of information. I love to grill and smoke when I have time but am by no means an expert. I have been without a grill for a while and just picked up an OKJ Highland Reverse. I am on my third week and still setting it up. I am in the HVAC Industry and been extremely busy. I have decided to try to insulate the firebox, this has been tricky. I used ceramic fiber to insulate the inside then created a new liner from steel so all the insulation is covered and sealed. I am losing about 3/4" all the way around and only hoping that won't create to many problems down the road. I am working on the top half now. I am also going to make new plates to replace the baffles that came with the grill. 3/16" should help hold heat better than the thinner ones it came with.
I'm hoping to get it all finished up and seasoned this weekend so I can finally get back to grilling!
