    Hi from California!

    Hi all - I've been using this site for about three years. Meathhead has transformed me from an okay cook on the grill (and kitchen) to a much more confident cook that has turned out A LOT of meals that get the reaction, "that was the best X I've ever had!!" From the wet-rubs to the ridiculously good burger recipe, from the science of the Maillard reaction to the reviews of products - I have gained SO much knowledge from this site. I am always excited when new recipes and techniques are added, and I've cooked about 75% of what is on here. The one I get the biggest reaction from? It's hands down when I grind up some shortribs and make people the best burgers they've ever had. Looking forward to continuing down this BBQ trail!!

          Welcome to The Pit dbeckwith1717! Glad to have you here. I have yet to grind my own burgers, I've made some killer ones with proper techniques just from good ground meat from the store, but a home-ground one is on my list.
