I do a deep clean on my webber kettle to get off all the grease and flaky stuff. I use a water/vinegar/dawn spray. I have never done any real deep cleaning on the grates. I just make sure I knock off leftover food from last cook. I guess I’m paranoid about using anything thats not food safe on the grates and I’ve now rusted two charcoal grates in the last couple of years…
