I selected the ninja Woodfire pizza oven from this May’s great giveaway. So I’m going to tell you about this cooker after using it a couple times. I got a nice message from Mr. Huskee and a shipping notification about a week ago so I knew exactly when the oven was on its way. I was ready for cooking the minute it arrived at the door this past Friday.
Out of the box this thing seems simply like a bulky toaster oven. The dials, door, handles all feel like good quality and sturdy. The controls are intuitive so I knew what to do as soon as it was plugged in. Maybe it took 25 minutes to preheat and it was already ripping at 700 degrees and ready to cook.
I made 9 pizzas on Friday on the 700 degree setting. The thing performed the same on pie 9 as it did on the first. It cooked evenly and was almost foolproof (a couple pies were a bit crispy as I was getting dialed in) overall though it was a lot of fun using it the first time. Today I made 3 more pizzas. The taste testers were all impressed. I was so happy about how the crust came out. I make pizzas in my home oven sometimes and I can just never get that crispy outside fluffy inside crust until now. These pies were also prettier than I’ve ever been able to make. I look forward to honing in my dough recipe and stretching skills. It really helps that I’ll be able to count on an oven that performs consistently.
This is a simple, well made outdoor electric oven that performs consistently. I haven’t played with the smoky wood pellet settings and I don’t really care to as I’ve got other toys to do that job. I’m planning to make pizzas all summer with this. I think it will also come in handy when we host holidays or big dinner parties as an extra oven. Expecting this will become a regular in my arsenal. Overall, this thing feels like a home run of a 2nd place contest pick.
Thanks to amazingribs for putting this great giveaway on and for the moderators and everyone who participates here as this is the best bbq forum on the web.
