Sorry I am coming to this discussion late. I thoroughly enjoy pizza ovens - as much as I enjoy my LSG for barbecue. A handful of year ago, I bought the Carbon Kitchen pizza oven because it had a dedicated following on pizzamaking.com at the time. It has served me well, but has some fit and finish issues that I wasn't crazy about (not the most robust built cooker I've ever seen). It came out before the Dome or the Karu 16, and I liked the idea of the second flame below the stone. That said, it can run hot, and the flame dial does not do much to change the temperature.
Since then, I bought the Volt 12 and have loved it when I've wanted to cook indoors. The Volt 2 (have to love numbering where 2 comes after 12) has gotten some pretty good traction on YouTube if you are at all interested in electric.
Given my nitpicks with the Carbon, along with the new offerings from both Gozney and Ooni, I am actually considering getting a new outdoor oven myself. My wife thinks I should get the Dome Gen 2 XL, because it is the best looking oven. Of course, she is the same person when I was looking at getting a new pit surprised me by buying me the LSG ACGS for my birthday/Christmas (ordered before my birthday in September; shipped before Christmas).
My issue with the Dome is its portability, or lack thereof. Since we now have over 290 lbs. of dog, we do not host family as much since many of the people are not dog people. As such, when my wife and I cook, we typically have the meals at our godchildren's house. The portability of the Ooni line is appealing, as I can easily fit any of their ovens in the back of my Explorer. On the other hand, give the amount of canine in my house I am also considering getting a Transit van, which with a ramp would make the Dome more portable.
I guess this is a very long and rambling way to say that you should DEFINITELY get a pizza oven. As for which one, I would say look at all the use cases you think you would have and prioritize them. Do you want to make larger pizzas? If so, they removes the smaller ones. If you want portability, though, some of the larger ones might be more of a challenge. Multi fuel vs. single fuel is its own conversation (although I would say wood or charcoal cooking would largely only serve as more the experience than any difference in taste/cook).
I've had good experience with Ooni (both product and customer service), but have also heard great things about Gozney. There is also a rabid Blackstone following. If you can figure out what you want, there are several choices that will serve you well... and if you can figure out what you want, then you can HELP ME figure out what I want to get!!!
