Ooni is introducing a new electric oven model, and it looks like they are hoping to attract people beyond pizza making. While I enjoy my Volt 12, I don't know how well it actually sold - so it might make some sense to try to expand their target audience a bit. At the price point (and size), I'm not sure how many people not interested in pizza indoors are really going to take the plunge, though.
That said, I'm not sure I would characterize presets as "Pizza Intelligence," but I guess their marketing team felt they needed to tap into the AI craze. Maybe I'm just old and unforgiving of buzzy catchphrases these days. That said, if Ooni ever wanted to send me one for free, I might be willing to be a convert!
I got this too and I'm pretty interested in it (and contemplated buying the original Volt). Honestly don't really care to learn whatever Pizza Intelligence is and don't really care about presets (I've never used any preset functions on my Instant Pot either) but a newer model that is 30% smaller footprint than the original is pretty enticing to me (the copy says it can fit in a standard kitchen cabinet). And I've seen some of your posts and the pizzas look great coming out of it.
I have the original Ooni Koda 12 but don't use it as much as I would like and feel like I'd use the Volt more, if for no other reason not dealing with propane tank and having to move everything outside to stretch/top/launch pizzas (not to mention NY weather makes it that much more challenging for half the year). I make a decent amount of pizzas in my oven of all styles (excluding neopolitan which is limited to just my Ooni), so having another tool that heats up quicker and can do neopolitan pizzas indoors is pretty damn tempting
Thanks for the kind words. I've found that I use my Volt much more than my outdoor oven (Carbon Kitchen). It is much more convenient. Being in Michigan, I actually had some of my toppings freeze on my prep table when making pizzas a few years ago for Christmas Eve dinner for my family. I was hoping they might keep a similar footprint but maybe go a bit bigger on the stone size - say 14"-15". That said, I'm sure it will do a great job. The Boost function is its secret weapon.
