I made a mistake with a dessert pizza. I used a little too much maple syrup on the top and while cooking some of it dripped down on the stone. Thought I had a high enough lip on the edge but didn't. I don't think it is a huge deal with the stone. I mean they're bound to get some staining. Besides giving it a good blast of heat for awhile, is there anything else that can, or should, be done? Thanks.

A little bit of hydrogen peroxide might help lift and bleach the stain from the pores. Next step would be a mixed of baking soda and vinegar, brushed with an old toothbrush. Make sure everything is totally dried before using the stone again. Sometimes my stones start looking like a Rorschach test and I try to remove the disturbing images.🙂
