    KBQ

Anyone done any extensive cooking on a Karubecue? I was curious on the smoke flavor vs a pellet? I've always heard pellet provided a very light flavor profile. I was curious how the flavors were on the KBQ in comparison to a pellet. Max gave it a stellar review but always like to do my due diligence.

I love pellet smokers. Nothing is easier to use. Throw in your briskets and butts before hitting the hay and sleep like a baby knowing you will wake up to delicious smoked meats. However, the Karubecue is a whole new world in smoking. Competition cooks take years to learn how to create perfect clean smoke. You can do it first time with the Karubecue. The results are dramatically better than other smokers. Only a high quality stick burner in the hands of a master is equal.

Sounds good. I think I'm sold either now or down the road.

I thought it was awesome since I saw it on the Pitmaster contest prizes page and Max's review put it over the top. Biggest thing I wanted was to make sure I could get a stronger smoke flavor if I wanted it and it sounds like I can. Bill Karau has also been awesome answering all my questions.

How many racks of ribs will that thing hold?

Not sure... 16 without a rib rack I think (3-4 per shelf x 4 shelves)... Significantly more if you used rib racks.... Maybe you for 2 rib racks on each shelf so maybe 32?

Just to keep this as a FAQ type post for KBQ people... I found a good cover...

The Brinkman 2 Burner Nex Gas Grill cover from Home Depot for $20 fits the KBQ with the stack on perfectly.

You started off this thread asking about the smoke flavor of the KBQ. Your pictures look great . Care to offer comments about the flavor profile and which option you used when selecting which smoke port to use?

Flavor profile is excellent. I haven't done one fully dirty. I tried hybrid, clean and a mix of two. My preference for ribs is 1 hour hybrid, rest clean.

I did a pork shoulder tonight and it was 1 hour hybrid and rest clean... I thought it was good but I like stronger. Next time doing dirty for 2 hours then hybrid then clean.

What's the inside of theKarubecue C-60 look like after an 8 hour cook. Does it stay bright and shiny inside?
