Initially went with a Maverick XR. Really like it! Accurate, great range, can turn off alarms easily, etc. Their customer service is awesome. I was able to pick it up at their warehouse since I live about 30 min away.
I then got a BBQ Guru CyberQ Cloud. That changed everything for me. Absolutely love it. The only negative I have so far is occasionally it will hold a temp about 7 degrees under my target. But it holds. If I cycle the power it will hold the target. I can’t figure out what the trigger is for it to hold under yet. Doesn’t always do it. But again, it holds!

Have you checked with BBQ Guru on this? I would, I am sure they will be able to help you. Great customer service over there. Really nice people.
Yes, I called them on Friday. They mentioned it could be the pit probe and to test it. It’s spot on in comparison with the Maverick XR and boiling water test. I have a big cook on Thur-Fri to do and will try it again. I’m using it on a WSM 18.

I use an earlier model ThermoWorks Thermapen and a Smoke. I think both are excellent. But the best thing about ThermoWorks products is the follow up customer service. Truly gracious and outstanding.
