    KBQ + Combustion thermoprobe.

    This is a perfect match. It is amazing how closely the rig's Thermopop probe, resting on metal, mirrors the Combustion ambient temp. If searing on the top grate, pull the Combustion probe. Too hot up there.

    I don't understand what you are stating. I know you understand, but your statement is confusing....at least to me. Can you reword it? I have a KBQ and always enjoy tidbits of information to assist me in my cooks.

      TripleB. Combustion, Inc., out of Seattle, makes a wireless probe for use inside a cooker. It has 8 sensors along its length, measuring core, intermediate, surface, and ambient temps. It transmits to your phone. A slick and simple system.

      I did a couple of ribeyes, probe in one steak. Ambient temp from probe tracked the KBQ's Thermopop very closely, and graphed the intake fan, pulling heat into the cooker, on a regular basis, also very closely.

      The Combustion gear had no trouble transmitting thru the KBQ steel.
