Seen this in FB Marketplace, I don’t really want it, but it’s about 5 miles away. What’s the scoop on these? There’s a lot of information on them as home builds. I’m not going to buy it, I’m just curious.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

2 reverse flow stick burners (I built)
Propane griddle
3 charcoal grills
pellet grill
Meat slicer, meat grinder, sausage stuffer
I have never seen one in that configuration, the kit is sold to build a heating stove. Legs, collars for stove pipe, and door assembly is to make a barrel stove with a top barrel for more radiant heat area. Builder decided that it would make a smoker, and it will function as that. I do not think it will hold temps very well or last very long unless it it inside a shed or shelter. A good bed of sand in the firebox would help with burning the bottom out.

I built one see pix, Using BBQ Guru. I am having problems with guru, However, naturally aspirated, it works great. The guru works best if a good bed of coals are formed on a grate with air coming up through grate. I have to provide a little bit of help by cracking the door open 1/4 ". I'm using 100% wood, charcoal would probably help with regulation.
We also used fire bricks, coated it with lard on first cook to season the cooking chamber. Grate sits on fire bricks with surround of 1/8 " steel to force air through grates.
