Sausage rack and temporary chimney cover

Rack still needs the two 304 stainless rails. Waiting on 309 welding rods. This will hold the sausage filled bars.

Birds have started frequenting the carport, so before they start dropping uric acid laced bombs on the smoker and down the chimney, I installed a temporary roof. Once I get it on a trailer I can affix a permanent chimney roof.

The goal is to do all this stuff using 6011 rods (309 stainless) and not get frustrated enough to break my stinger. So far so good.

I knew I collected all these stainless pins for something.

I'll weld these onto my stainless bars that will hold the sausage filled bars. Keeps the bar(s) from rolling too much and wreaking sausage havoc.

Should have at least some 309 rods by Friday. I have one pin "posing" how they will be welded on.

If you have access to a drill press you could drill hole at each location push the pins through and just weld the ends might save welding each side?

Sausage Rack finished. Three bars have stainless washers welded near the edges to make sure we hang the sausage strictly over the deflector plate.

Got some slag cleaning up to do. Once you get the slag off them stainless welds, they look gooood.
