Finally got some plate steel, got some cutting done - plasma geeking out inside!

We managed to pick up a 5x8 sheet of 3/8" and one of 1/4" the other day. Took it to the cutter and got some things planned out and got it cut.

Super excited to get some of this stuff finally done! W00T!

Here's the long regular-speed video. 14 mins or so:

    And the sped-up version, 1:45 -

Only problem is, this is probably the last thing I'll get to do this year for this project. Won't be able to get any more work done myself until after the new year. B0000!!!!

It's like you take a chicken and disassemble the respective parts into little pieces parts

          Parts is parts

I forgot what chicken outlet advertiser that was from...

That was totally awesome. Amazing how the machine cuts all that in just 14 minutes.

It's hard for me to think I'm not going to be able to actually DO anything with all that stuff for nearly a damned month! Argh!

I'm going to have to console myself with drinking beer HERE:

This will be my view Saturday afternoon:

Dangit, it sucks! I will have to suffer through all of that torture until I can get back to the cold and wet and learn how to weld on that crap in the outdoors!

Ordered my own plasma cutter today! I'm tired of wanting, tired of wishing, blah blah blah. Time to get down!

So here's the one I ordered:

ID:	1342828 YESWELDER CUT-65DS, 65 Amp Non High Frequency Non-Touch Pilot Arc Digital Plasma Cutter, DC Inverter 110/220V Dual Voltage Blowback Plasma Cutting Machine

It's a 65-amp, works on 110V or 220V and should be more than enough to cut up to 3/8" or even 1/2", which is as thick as I can imagine I'll ever care to cut.

The one I saw cutting out my stuff this weekend is an 85-amp, and it's rated to cut up to 1¼" steel, now that's a much higher quality unit and runs about $8,500, near as I can tell. Well, mine is $450 on Amazon, and I got a coupon code to cut it down by another $100. Hell, if it turns out to be a piece of crap, I can return it. But I have a feeling it's not going to be too bad. I've watched a ton of videos on YT about some of these cheap Amazon plasma cutters and they seem to work. They may not be the highest quality out there, but they just work. Or so it seems. They have them for as little as $179 nowadays. It's crazy, but capitalism and advances in technology make this stuff commonplace anymore and it was just... well... it was just time. I'm over it. I'm done.

                Now I can't wait!

It's actually going to come in while I'm gone on vacation. Oh well... I've told my buddy to start using it, don't wait on me! Hell, I'm going to be on a beach drinking beer, so he might as well have some fun, right??? I had it shipped to his house, knowing I would be gone. lol

                I can't wait!
