I (along with everyone else on Grilla's mailing list) got the email about this about an hour ago. If I were in the market for a gasser and a griddle, I'd be very interested. With my Weber Genesis, I really don't need another gasser, but I am in the market for a griddle. Although, it will be another four or five years before all the grills and smokers live in the same place, so maybe I am in the market. And could I talk my wife into a $800 grill/griddle, when I can buy a griddle for $200-300?

Bogy I was interested in getting a griddle sometime back and did not have the space on my back porch for a dedicated griddle. I purchased a Steelmade griddle designed to sit on top of the gasser's grates. They are made of carbon steel, season easily and quickly and frankly I love mine. You might want to take a look at steelmadeusa.com. Mine fits my 4 burner gasser beautifully and it and the grease trap (which attaches to the underside of the grills grates cost only slightly over $100.

Alabama Smoke, that looks good. Thanks for the tip!

Looks pretty sweet and a good price point. The thing I don't like is the grease tray. I had an old gasser with that same grease collection system. Regardless of what they say grease will build up on the tray (unless you are a clean freak) and is subject to ignition being so close to the burners. I would never buy a gasser with that kind of setup again, I nearly burned my overhang down with mine.

Back in the days before I bought my pellet cooker I used my Weber Genesis to cook everything, mostly using indirect heat. I had the "indirect" part on the end away from the grease drain, and over the winter did not realize how much grease had collected on that end. In the spring I turned the burners all on high to cook some burgers. Went back into the house for a minute, and came back to flames everywhere. The fire melted the propane hose. I found out a propane fire will melt aluminum.

Good points. I hope we can get one to test it out.

I have not had that problem but do suggest you watch the pan for grease buildup every couple of cooks and remove and dump it before reinstalling.

Nice, I have a 6-burner Summit that I’ve had for 15 years...so I’m not in the market for a gasser...but this looks like a good addition to their lineup.

I like the design and features/versatility. But I don’t understand why the top half of the back side of the cabinet is wide open.
